Welcome to Tutory — a hyperlocal tutor discovery platform, a product of Viantik. We are committed to protecting your personal data and your right to privacy. This policy explains clearly what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.

• Personal Details: Name, mobile number and email address provided during registration.
• Location Data: GPS coordinates and pin code to match students with tutors within a 10km radius.
• Academic Data: Subject preferences, classes, syllabuses and educational boards you select.
• Authentication Data: Your password (stored in hashed form) and a one-time code sent to your email only if you reset your password.
• Profile Media: Profile photos and portfolio images you voluntarily upload.
• Chat & Enquiries: Messages, call requests and chat requests exchanged between parents, students and tutors.
• Payment Details: Plan, amount, order and payment IDs for recharges and advertisement purchases. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by our secure payment partner and are never stored by Tutory.
• Device Information: A push notification token and basic device identifiers, used to deliver notifications.
• Advertisement Content: Text and images that tutors submit for advertisement banners.

• Account Creation & Login: Mobile number and password for secure authentication. Your email is used to send password reset codes and payment confirmations.
• Tutor–Student Matching: Geolocation data to connect students with nearby tutors.
• Communication: Enabling in-app chat and call-back requests between parties.
• Profile Display: Showing your academic details and teaching info to relevant users.
• Payments & Advertisements: Processing tutor recharges and advertisement purchases, and showing tutor advertisements to relevant users.
• Notifications: Sending push notifications about enquiries, chats and call requests.

We do not sell your personal data. We only share your information in the following circumstances:

• Between Tutors & Students: Basic profile info is shared to facilitate connections. Contact numbers are shared only when a call or chat request is made, and are shown to a tutor only while the tutor has an active plan.
• Payment Processing: Our secure payment partner processes recharge and advertisement payments.
• Push Notifications: Our notification service delivers notifications and receives your device token.
• Email Delivery: Our email service sends password reset codes and payment confirmation emails.
• Hosting & Infrastructure: Secure cloud infrastructure and our own servers host and deliver the platform.
• Legal Obligations: If required by law or court order.

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. You may delete your account and data at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete Account). You can also email support@tutory.in to request deletion. Payment records may be retained as required by law.

We use password-protected accounts (passwords are stored in hashed form) and encrypted data transmission. However, no internet transmission can be 100% guaranteed secure. We encourage users to keep their mobile number private.

• Review and update your profile details at any time from the app.
• Delete your account and all associated data from the Profile → Delete Account section, or by emailing support@tutory.in.
• Control what information is publicly visible using show/hide toggles in your profile settings.

Free for students and parents: Searching for tutors, viewing tutor profiles and sending enquiries is always free.

Free for tutors to list: Tutors can register and appear in search results at no cost.

Pay only when needed: Tutors may optionally recharge to unlock parent contact details and chat on enquiries, or buy advertisement banners. Recharge is never mandatory.

• There is no auto-renewal. You choose when and whether to recharge.
• Payments are processed securely by our payment partner. Tutory does not store your card or UPI details.
• Recharge and advertisement payments are non-refundable once the plan or advertisement is activated. If you were charged but your plan was not activated, contact us and we will fix it or refund you.
• You may stop using the platform at any time with no charges.

You can delete your Tutory account at any time, from inside the app or by email. Full steps are on our account deletion page.

• Parents & students: Open the app, go to Profile, tap Delete Account, type DELETE and confirm. This deletes your profile and your student registrations.
• Tutors: Open the app, go to Profile, tap Delete Account, type DELETE and confirm. This deletes your profile, subjects, fees, enquiries, chats and advertisement banners.
• Cannot log in? Email support@tutory.in from your registered email address with your mobile number, and we will delete your account within 7 days.

Payment records (amount, date and payment ID) may be kept as long as Indian tax and accounting laws require. Deleting your account ends any active plan, and unused balance is not refunded.

Tutory is intended for users aged 18 and over (parents, guardians and tutors). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Students under 18 should use Tutory only through a parent or guardian.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed, and continued use of Tutory means you accept the updated policy.
