Welcome to Tutory — a hyperlocal tutor discovery platform, a product of Viantik. We are committed to protecting your personal data and your right to privacy. This policy explains clearly what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.

Information We Collect

Personal Details: Name and mobile number provided during registration.
Location Data: GPS coordinates and pin code to match students with tutors within a 10km radius.
Academic Data: Subject preferences, classes, syllabuses and educational boards you select.
Authentication Data: OTP strings for secure login.
Profile Media: Profile photos and portfolio images you voluntarily upload.

Account Creation & Login: Mobile number and OTP for secure authentication.
Tutor–Student Matching: Geolocation data to connect students with nearby tutors.
Communication: Enabling in-app chat and call-back requests between parties.
Profile Display: Showing your academic details and teaching info to relevant users.

Will Your Information Be Shared?

We only share your information in the following circumstances:

Between Tutors & Students: Basic profile info is shared to facilitate connections. Phone numbers are shared only when a Call Request is explicitly triggered by the student.
Third-Party Services: SMS for OTP delivery.
Legal Obligations: If required by law or court order.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time from within the app.

How We Keep Your Information Safe

We use OTP-based authentication and encrypted data transmission. However, no internet transmission can be 100% guaranteed secure. We encourage users to keep their mobile number private.

Your Privacy Rights

Review and update your profile details at any time from the app.
Delete your account and all associated data from the Profile → Delete Account section.
Control what information is publicly visible using show/hide toggles in your profile settings.

Please read this carefully before using Tutory

Tutory is a technology platform only. We provide a digital space where students, parents and tutors can discover and connect with each other in their local area. We are not an educational institution, tutoring agency, or placement service.

Tutory does not verify, endorse, certify or guarantee the quality, credentials, qualifications or conduct of any tutor listed on the platform.

Tutory is not responsible for the outcome of any tutoring sessions, academic results, financial transactions, or disputes between students/parents and tutors.

Any arrangement — fees, schedules, teaching methods — made between a tutor and a student/parent is entirely their own private agreement. Tutory is not a party to it.

Tutory does not guarantee that any tutor profile is accurate, complete or up to date. Users should independently verify credentials before engaging any tutor.

Think of Tutory like a local directory — we make it easy for students and tutors in the same neighbourhood to find each other. The rest of the relationship is entirely between them. Use your own judgement and take necessary precautions.

Refund & Subscription Policy

Free Trial: Every newly registered tutor receives a 7-day free trial including full platform access and 1 free advertisement. No payment is required during this period.

Subscription: After the free trial, tutors may optionally recharge their account to continue using premium features. Recharge is never mandatory.

All recharge payments are non-refundable once processed.
Since a free trial is provided before any payment, refunds will not be issued under any circumstance.
There is no auto-renewal. Tutors choose when and whether to recharge.
Tutors may stop using the platform at any time with no charges.
